We all believe in free speech

However, we have no control over the response to that speech. While we don’t have the same constitutional protections as they do in the US, it’s something we take pretty much for granted here.

The conflict between free speech and verbal abuse and bullying, whether on-line or in person, becomes a complicated issue. There is no doubt the physical harm is real and can be deadly, the question becomes where to draw the line.

Certainly using your own powers of free speech to condemn bullies, racists, sexists, and others is the first step, and something we all can do. none of us are required to provide a platform for anyone else.
