The Problem of Evil

The “Problem of Evil”  is a philosophical question on the existence of a god. The problem can be posed simply:

  1. God is omnipotent (that is, all-powerful).
  2. God is omniscient (that is, all-knowing).
  3. God is perfectly good.
  4.  Evil exists.

Many philosophers claim that these four statements cannot all be true. On the other hand, others believe they have satisfactorily answered the question. I’m not a philosopher, so you can read these two pages and decide for yourself which argument is stronger. Myself, I’ll let SMBC make the point.
