The question has been asked many times:
Isaiah 40:13 – Who has understood the mind of the LORD, or instructed him as his counselor?
Repeated in Romans 11:34 – Who has understood the mind of the LORD, or instructed him as his counselor?
Answered in 1 Corinthians 2:16 – For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
What would he say if we knew the mind of god? Pope Benedict XVI, who has a direct line to the big guy, has the answer:
“The universe is not the result of chance, as some would want to make us believe,” “God’s mind was behind complex scientific theories such as the big bang” “Contemplating it (the universe) we are invited to read something profound into it: the wisdom of the creator, the inexhaustible creativity of God,”
Of course, people such as Stephen Hawking have a different view:
So long as the universe had a beginning, we could suppose it had a creator. But if the universe is really self-contained, having no boundary or edge, it would have neither beginning nor end, it would simply be. What place, then, for a creator?
And SMBC has their own take on how the mind of God works.
