Darwin Day

Today, February 12, is the 203rd anniversary of the birthdate of Charles Darwin. He was a remarkably clear thinker and writer and followed the evidence despite what he knew it would do to his personal life.

This date has become a day to celebrate science and reason around the world. Of course, a bit of humour never hurt anyone either.

One day the zoo-keeper noticed that the orang-utan was reading two books – the Bible and Darwin’s The Origin of Species. In surprise he asked the ape, “Why are you reading both those books”?
“Well,” said the orang-utang, “I just wanted to know if I was my brother’s keeper or my keeper’s brother.”

How does natural selection differ from sexual selection?
In distinction to natural selection, sexual selection may be natural, unnatural, or perverted.

Old and stale, but i couldn’t find any better.

Anyway, Happy Darwin Day
