Gay Barbarians

Michele Bachman is a Republican Member of Congress from Minnesota who has White House aspirations. She has been “called by god” to seek the presidency, even though some consider it to be non-biblical. Her husband, Marcus, runs a Christian counselling clinic in the “Twin Cities” of Minneapolis and Saint Paul. He is, apparently of the belief, that you can ‘pray the gay away’, and once likened gays to barbarians

On a radio talk show in May of 2010, Marcus Bachmann said on the subject of gays and lesbians:

“We have to understand: Barbarians need to be educated. They need to be disciplined. Just because someone feels it or thinks it doesn’t mean that we are supposed to go down that road. That’s what is called the sinful nature. We have a responsibility as parents and as authority figures not to encourage such thoughts and feelings from moving into the action steps.”

In response to this, Bachmann’s clinic was glitterbombed by a group of Gay Barbarians.

Non-violent protesting at its best.

Fantastic. Made me laugh out loud. Pray the gay away? These silly people would do better to get down on their knees and pray for something worthwhile like a cure for cancer or world peace.

  2. If they want to pray their lives away, they can go ahead. Won’t do any good, but at least they won’t be fucking up the lives of other people.
