JD Schramm on Surviving Suicide

This video has been circulating widely, but I thought it was worth a mention. Especially as I have my own story to tell.

This talk is from TED

TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences — the TED Conference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Edinburgh UK each summer — TED includes the award-winning TEDTalks video site, the Open Translation Project and TED Conversations, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs and TED Prize.

JD Schramm is

A seasoned communicator and entrepreneur, JD Schramm teaches the theoretical and practical aspects of effective communication as a lecturer in management at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. At Stanford, he has led the development and launch of the Mastery in Communication Initiative to help GSB students improve their mastery of speaking and writing.

He says: “I cultivate dreams in myself and others by building bridges, inspiring greatness, encouraging growth, and living passionately.”

And here’s the video

The TED page has a number of worldwide resources. Including the Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention.
